George Habib joined The Lung Association – Ontario in October 2007 as President & CEO, bringing to the job more than twenty-eight years of leadership experience gained at local, regional, national and international levels in the not-for-profit and corporate sectors.
During his tenure, George has increased the profile of The Lung Association in Ontario and built strong relationships, partnerships and alliances with corporations, Government, non-governmental organizations, and medical and health professional societies to support our work in helping Ontarians breathe.
His leadership in advocacy has resulted in the passage of new legislation such as amendments to the Smoke-Free Ontario Act to further reduce the use of tobacco, and Ryan’s Law which will ensure that students with asthma have ready access to their life-saving medications. Most recently, George has been driving forward with Bill 71- The Lung Health Act, which lays out a comprehensive approach to tackle lung disease in Ontario.
Through his leadership, The Lung Association has moved out of a period of uncertainty to one of financial stability while making strategic investments in research and programs and services, and elevating the issue of breathing and the Association’s brand. Now, as we embark on a new strategic plan, Breath of Success, 2016-2020, and with strong Board and staff leadership, the organization is poised for growth as we expand our programs and services and engage new communities across the province to support our work in helping Ontarians breathe.
An active participant within the broader Lung federation, George has led a number of initiatives, including the Breathing as One Campaign for Lung Research.
George lives in Mississauga with his wife Sharon, and is the proud father of three children.

Tim Alcock, Vice President, Programs and Operations, joined the Lung Association – Ontario in November 2016. An accomplished executive with over 25 years of demonstrated success in non-profit senior management and leadership positions, Tim has a solid record of achievement in delivering innovation and results, through strategic planning, marketing, fundraising, as well as health education programs and community led initiatives.
Tim currently oversees technology and infrastructure changes at The Lung Association to improve its performance and effectiveness, while also overseeing the delivery of our critical mission priorities and programs across the province.
Before joining The Lung Association, Tim served as the Vice President, Marketing, Communications and Philanthropy for CNIB (National Office) where he led a broad portfolio of responsibility, including integrated brand marketing, fundraising, and social enterprise operations for accessible consumer products and technologies. Prior to coming to Canada in 2001, Tim worked in the private sector, for a multi-channel retailer, where he oversaw the creation of direct marketing programs for a variety of clients.
Tim was raised in Burton-on-Trent, UK. He lives in Toronto, is married and has two young children. Tim has several personal connections to lung disease and is passionate about the mission of The Lung Association.

Prior to joining The Lung Association – Ontario in 2008, Peter had close to 15 years of leadership experience working in government and the not-for-profit sector. Following five years with the Federal Government where he served as Policy Advisor with various departments, he entered the not-for profit sector where he held numerous roles in the areas of development, marketing and public relations.
In his current role as Vice President, Marketing, Development and Public Affairs, Peter is responsible for the overall fundraising, communications and government relations activities of The Lung Association – Ontario, as well as national corporate development and direct response on behalf of the broader lung federation. Peter is the key relationship manager for all corporate and foundation partners, and a member of the board of both Health Partners and Federated Health Charities. He is also a member of the Steering Committee of the Innovative Medicines Canada-sponsored Value-Demonstrating Initiative on COPD, and past-Chair of Better Care Faster, a private-public healthcare coalition that focused on innovation and improving patient care. He is also a member of the Canadian Foundation for Healthcare Improvement – Institute of Health Economics’ Expert Advisory Committee on Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease.
Most recently, Peter held a dual role within the federation as the Director of the Breathing as One Campaign for Lung Research, which aims to bolster investments in general research, training and knowledge translation. He also played a lead role in the federation-wide rebranding effort of The Lung Association.
Peter lives in Oakville with his wife and two young boys, and is active in the community.

Suresh’s experience prior to joining The Lung Association includes a diverse number of fields. He spent a number of years working in the engineering field and then in Sales and Marketing with Esso Corporation in the Caribbean followed by years in retail with Budget Car and Truck Rentals and Holt Renfrew. He joined Epstein Enterprises as an accountant in 2001 and then moved to The Lung Association in 2008 as Manager of Finance and Accounting. In 2013 he assumed the role of Chief Financial Officer, a position he currently holds.
Suresh is married to his wife, Indeera, of 31 years and they have two very successful daughters, Sushima, recently married to Raju Assi & Renuka Naraine.
